A FEW THINGS YOU MAY NOT KNOW ABOUT ME
I have no memory of me not playing the piano. (weird, right?)
I learned to read music before reading words.
I love to improvise when no one is listening.
I am passionate about film scoring. I need to do more of that.
I have a love-hate relationship with performing. Working on the love part.
I studied at Mannes College of Music Prep Division for 8 years, Juilliard School Prep Division for 4, and got a Bachelor of Music (BM) from Oberlin Conservatory.
My real work at the piano came when I was pointed in the direction of the Taubman Approach to the piano due to my bout with Repetitive Strain Injuries at the piano.
It was the best thing that could have happened to me as a musician
I study now with Robert Durso in NYC.
I am a breast cancer survivor.
I call my mom every day.
Going back to the piano after a 12 year hiatus was like falling in love all over again.
The lessons I learn at the bench are endless, so I decided to start writing them down.
